A poem by Sofia Sears
eyelids droop/tulip petals decompressing
headache starts/bullet on bulletproof panes
memories flicker/the leaves swirl and swirl
r e s i s t and it will sink you
d o w n
into
deprivation.
f o l l o w please
it will hold you tightly
but I can’t grasp onto its tail
c h a s e it
I can’t anymore
my eyes won’t stay shut.
