silenced- a short film

Liz Stewart, one of my good friends and one of the quirkiest, most intelligent girls I know, shares my utmost pain in the relentless refusal of patriarchy to die out. She also shares my frustration in the lack of attention being brought to combat the brutal, often insidious, social pandemic that is domestic violence. Liz has written and produced a beautiful, poignant short film meant to raise awareness, in quite a poetic manner, for domestic violence.

Liz eloquently describes the complicated nature of abuse, and, the often patriarchal roots that help cause such abuse, in the words of the one who goes unheard- the victim. I had the honor to be in this video along with our art director, Peter, and despite my melodramatic acting, her film punctures and questions. Please watch below.
